November is less than two months away, which means National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) 2018 will be here soon!
It’s hard to believe that writers across the world will try to meet the 50,000 word count goal in 30 days in about 60 days.
The organization has a few things going on right now to get you inspired for NaNoWriMo 2018.
On Instagram, you can participate in the #InstaWrimo challenge. The challenge is for you to upload a picture on Instagram using the hashtag, with every day in September having its own topic for the picture. You could upload a picture every day in September, or upload all of them at once or even just do the pictures you want to; there are no set-in-stone rules for the #InstaWrimo challenge. Meanwhile, merchandise for NaNoWriMo 2018 is already on sale on the NaNoWriMo website. New merchandise includes a 2018 alliteration coffee mug, a “noveling life” T-shirt that has a fantastic design that oozes NaNoWriMo and a “paper stack” hoodie. Check out the store for these goodies and more! As a bonus, several T-shirts from past contests are on sale, as are several posters from previous NaNoWriMo challenges.
Finally, the social media images for NaNoWriMo 2018 are already available for use. They include a Twitter and Facebook cover image that has the same design as the “noveling life” T-shirt. In addition, there is a profile picture image you could use on Facebook and Twitter that has a notebook with Nov. 1 written on it. Check out the social media images here. In just about 60 days, writers around the world will engage in NaNoWriMo 2018. Stories that need telling will get written. Until then, hopefully all of these activities will get us energized to participate in November. See you then.
