It’s Friday, which means there is a new Birth of the Sith character to introduce!
Today’s character is Hatt Mobbs, who at the start of part one of the story has been recently elected to serve as the King of Ord Mantell. Shortly after his election and ascension to the throne, his planet is blockaded by Malastare in retaliation for an alleged trade violation.
Mobbs, who always looks grumpy but is extremely diplomatic, does not take immediate action, instead waiting for guidance from the Republic, namely Ord Mantell’s Senator, Nvled Jear.
He inherited his head of security, Captain Menousek. While he and Capt. Menousek do not always see eye-to-eye, they both realize they serve the people of Ord Mantell and often put their differences aside.
By part two, Mobbs has become Ord Mantell’s new Senator following Senator Jear’s election as Supreme Chancellor of the Republic. His path mirrors that of Padme Amidala; I think of him as an echo of her, but he isn’t quite as devoted as Padme is depicted in the films. However, he is willing to put the people of his planet above all.
